New Kit From Milly Dee Scrapbook Designs

From time to time, I head over to DST and see who needs a little help promoting their kits.  This one caught my eye, especially because I have a lot of zoo and animal pictures to scrap!!!  I put my name out there and I was chosen to work with her new kit.  It is called Animal Magic.  It is a nice kit to work for a variety of pages.  I love the cute little animals in the kit!!  I also love the flower elements that are in there, too.  Here is a preview of the kit:

You can find her designs at Scrapable and Digital Scrap Cafe.  I love all of her kits and think she is a really talented designer!!!  So, for my LO I made with this kit:

I love the soft colors of this kit.  As you can see, it does have a number of uses and not just for those cute animal pictures!!!  I will have another page in the next couple of days to show some of the other creative uses for this kit!!!  Thanks to Milly Dee Scrapbook Designs for allowing me to use her kit!!!!  I love it!!!!

SOme Bad Storms and a New Page!!!

It was bound to happen sooner or later!!  We have this lovely tree in our backyard.  Over the last 4 years of living here, it has slowly shed its branches during storms.  I am just surprised it is still standing!!!  We lost a couple good sized branches last Thursday in the last round of storms!  Well, last night while we were all sitting here waiting on the storms to arrive, we heard what I thought was hail.  So, my husband goes out back to see what is going on.  He runs back in talking about the tree branches are in the yard.  Then, almost immediately, there is another noise just the same.  I go back to the kids' rooms and pull them out to the hall.  About that time, another really large part of the tree fell on the house.  I saw the ceiling fan in one room shake as I ran into the hall.  The main parts of the trunk are still there, but we have what appears to be a jungle of large tree parts in our backyard.  I don't think the house was damages, but there is a large part resting on the roof and the edge of the roof line.  So, we are just waiting to get someone out to take a look at it and get the tree cut down.  That tree scares me so much!!!

I was sitting here this morning working on a page that I had the perfect pictures to go with the perfect kit!  I was so happy I had finished it.  So I saved it and then when I went to re size it to place in a gallery, I noticed I had not added any shadowing to it at all!!  So, now, I am going to have to go back and do it over again.  Maybe I can make it better!!!  Oh well.  I used the Shabby Princess Plentiful kit.  I love the colors of it and how it goes really well with our pumpkin patch pictures!!!

Oh Oh It's Magic!!!!!

With a crazy computer then a crazy work schedule, I am finally off where I can post my first LO I have done for Heartfelt Perfections.  I used her new kit, Oh Oh It's Magic!  Love the soft colors and dreamy feeling that it has.  I found a couple of pictures of Ashley from a few years back that I had turned into black and white.  I think this page turned out quite well.  I am so excited to be working with Heartfelt Perfections.  SHe is a great person and her digi scrap kits are wonderful!!!

I will be busy trying to get more of the kids' pages done over the next week.  I am backed up with more pictures than time to scrap!!!  Until then........

Another day in the life of one crazy mom!!!

Day four of being off and I feel like I am running in circles rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic!!  We have had Karate two nights this week and another practice tonight for the upcoming tournament.  Also, I have been running around like a crazy woman trying to look for supplies for our Vacation Bible School.  We are doing Beach Blast this year.  I am also working on some new pages with a new kit from Heartfelt Perfections.  I will post as soon as I finish them!!  I am going to leave you with a few other pages that I have done in the past.
This is a more recent page that I did.  I used a sketch for this one.  It was for a challenge I did over at A Cherry On Top.  It was from our trip to Mackinac Island and Mackinaw City.  I had never been that far north before and it really was pretty.  I was glad to get back home to Arkansas, though!!  I use a kit called Maritime by Piggy Scraps, various parts of kits from Ivy Inspirations, and various elements from Gunhilde Storide.  I am really pleased with the way this one turned out!!

This is a page that I did a few years ago.  My twins got a new swing set in 2008.  Justin really loved it and would just swing until his little heart was content.  I used different elements from different designers.  All of them were freebies.  I am not sure who all they were from.  I did this page shortly after I started digi scrapping and didn't realize that I should be keeping up with what parts I used at that time.  I apologize.

This is Timothy, my older son, when he received his orange belt.  He is now a camo belt.  The man beside him is Mr. Gonzalez, one of his instructors.

This is one of my twins, Ashley, with her instructor, Senior Master Lee.  She is a 7th Degree Black Belt.  She is very good with the younger kids!!  This was when Ashley got her orange belt.  She is now a green belt.  I am so very proud of the both of them.  They have a tournament in a couple of weeks.  I know that they will do well.

Starting Over Fresh!

I am starting a new blog.  I had been trying to learn to design, but felt like I just really didn't have what it takes--which is the money and the great programs!!!  So, I think I am going to stick to doing CT work!!  So, in celebration of that, I have deleted all my other blogs and started new.  I wanted something different to start with.  So, I did the pick a template, pick a background, yadda, yadda, yadda....thing here on blogger.  But, I think it turned out really nice.  I feel like it captures who I am and what I do in my life.  I love researching my family and have many older pictures of them.  I just need to put them into a book or a blog or something!!  Anyway, In starting this new blog, I have also started working with Heartfelt Perfections.  I have followed her for a while on Facebook and other scrapping sites and really love her work.  I saw she was having a CT call and decided to send her a message.  So, here I am!!!  New work from her kits is coming really son, so, not to keep you waiting with a boring post, here are some of my more recent pages that I have done.

This first one is one I did to honor my grandmother, Lois.  I never got to meet her because she died in 1959 at the age of 30.  I have always thought that she was a very beautiful woman.  The kit used is one Called Creative Fusion About A Mother.  It is by the Scrapbookgraphics Designers.

This is a page I did from one of our many trips to Pinnacle Mountain.  It is a fairly good sized mountain just west of Little Rock, Arkansas.  It is a favorite spot of many because onece you get to the top, you can see for miles in all directions.  I especially love the views of the Arkansas River from the top!!!  The kit is called Lonely and is by Franziska Altmann.

This in an older page I did.  I thought the vintage feel of the papers went very good with the picture.  This is my daughter, Ashley.  We also go to the Old Mill many times a year.  If you have never seen it, you can get a glimpse of it in the opening scenes of Gone With the Wind.  It is a "mill" that was built mainly for the movie.  It is located in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  It is now a park and a very beautiful park.  It is a photographer's paradise--novice or expert!!!  The kit is called Vintage Oreo and is by Summer Driggs of Summertime Designs.

Thank you for looking.  I will definitely be posting more as I start to work with Heartfelt Perfections.  I am so excited and cannot wait to get started!!!
